End of Boating Season Blues
Pack the coolers, put away the summer lake accessories and break out the winter boat covers. The end of boating season is upon us. Might not be as exciting as the start of the season and some may get more emotional about it than others, but it’s incredibly important to do it right!
Though the lake condition is still fantastic for boating during the fall, around October 15th, most of the marinas on Lake Wallenpaupack will have closed their gas docks and begun pulling begun pulling boats from the water, so docks can get put away before the first snow. Especially in Northeast Pennsylvania, the weather can switch from fall to winter in the blink of an eye!
Enjoy the final 2 weeks of the season (October 1st – October 15th) with cooler temperatures, foliage changes and less crowds! Dock and dine during this time and practically have these places all to yourself, compared to the summer!
Plan and schedule all your post season and pre-spring maintenance/repairs so you don’t waste the precious summer months with your boat in the shop! Enjoy your last boat ride, all snuggled up in a blanket or cozy hoodie with a warm beverage in hand. Your boat should then get ready for winter storage.
Whether it be outdoor, indoor or heated storage, our service department highly recommends that your boat, and engine, get properly winterized and prepped to avoid damage when you use your boat again in the spring.
